Hair and Guide Viewport Display
You can change the way Ornatrix visualizes hair and guides inside the real-time Cinema 4D viewport through the Ornatrix display settings. This may be useful if you are having display issues with a particular method, or if you simply prefer seeing thin lines for hair.

Viewport Display Settings
- Viewport hair rendering mode
Specifies the method used for drawing hair in the viewport.- Lines - Hair is visualized as basic lines. Shading and thickness of hair are not visualized. This is the fastest method and is useful for very dense grooms or slower machines.
- Mesh - Legacy method. Ornatrix converts the hair internally to a mesh which is then displayed using the standard viewport. This is typically slower, especially with the camera-facing strands option. Use it only if the Optimized Mesh option gives you problems.
- Optimized Mesh - The default method. The GPU is used to optimize hair display, with shading and texturing properly supported and strands camera-facing without much performance cost.
- Camera facing hair
When on, the displayed strands always face the view, providing a more realistic look.- Off - Hair is drawn as mesh strips oriented based on each strand's base surface alignment. This is faster but can cause strands to be oriented unpredictably or create some visual artifacts.
- On mouse up - The view-facing information is updated only when view orbiting ends (the mouse is released). This allows orbiting the view at higher frame rates but may produce temporary artifacts while orbiting.
- On - Hair always faces the view. This is the default option and is optimized to work with the Optimized Mesh method.
- Use fur shading
When on, the hair normals are oriented tangent to the base surface. This gives a more realistic fur look for very short hairs; it is generally not useful for long hair.
