Alembic Import
Ornatrix App can import Alembic (.abc) files, both as base geometry to grow hair on and as hair brought in from elsewhere. Alembic is a common way to move geometry and hair between applications, so importing it lets the App fit into an existing pipeline.
Importing geometry
Import an Alembic mesh to use as the surface a groom grows on. Animated Alembic geometry is supported, so hair can follow an imported performance over the timeline. Once imported, the mesh is used like any other base surface - for example as the input to Guides from Mesh Operator. See Importing and Exporting Geometry.
Importing hair
Alembic hair can be brought in as baked hair, giving you a fixed set of strands to build on or render. Imported hair appears as a Baked Hair operator, on top of which you can stack further operators. If the imported hair needs to deform with a surface, ground it with Ground Strands.
