Hair and Guide Viewport Display
The viewport display settings control how Ornatrix App draws hair, guides, and base meshes in the real-time Vulkan viewport. Adjusting these does not change your groom - only how it is shown - so you can trade visual detail for speed while working, or switch display styles to inspect different aspects of a groom.
Display methods
Hair and guides can be drawn in different ways, from simple thin lines to fully shaded geometry. Lines are the lightest to draw and are ideal for fast, responsive grooming of dense hair; shaded display gives a closer preview of the final look. Choose whichever keeps interaction comfortable for the groom you are working on.
Previewing a fraction of the hair
For very dense grooms you can display only a fraction of the hair in the viewport while keeping the full count for rendering and export. This keeps navigation and editing fast without changing the final result. Operators that hold heavy hair, such as Baked Hair and Hair from Guides Operator, expose a viewport preview fraction for this purpose.
Guides, roots, and base mesh
You can show or hide guides, roots, and the base mesh independently, so you can focus on what you are editing - for example hiding dense hair to comb the guides beneath it. See Working with the Grooming Tools.
