Installing and Uninstalling 

 

Downloading 

Download the installer for your operating system from the Ornatrix App downloads page. You will be asked to log in with your Ephere account so that the download can be matched to your license. A free, time-limited evaluation build is also available - see Evaluation License and Demo.

Important: Do not rename the downloaded installer file before running it, otherwise authorizing the application may fail.

 

Installing on Windows 

The Windows build is distributed as an .msi installer.

1. Run the downloaded .msi and follow the prompts.
2. If a previous version of Ornatrix App is running, the installer will close it before continuing.
3. When installation finishes, launch Ornatrix App from the Start menu.

 

Installing on macOS 

The macOS build is distributed as a .pkg installer. Run the package and follow the prompts, then launch Ornatrix App from the Applications folder.

 

Installing on Linux 

The Linux build is distributed as a self-extracting .run archive. It needs a Python 3.11 installation (the python3.11 package of your distribution), whose standard library the embedded interpreter uses.

1. Open a terminal in the download folder and run sh OrnatrixApp-<version>-linux_<usertoken>.run.
2. Confirm the default installation, then enter your password: the files are installed to /opt/Ephere with sudo.
3. Launch Ornatrix App from your desktop's application menu, or run /opt/Ephere/OrnatrixApp/Ephere.Ornatrix.App from a terminal.

 

Licensing 

On first launch you will be prompted to activate your license. You can enter a purchased license, or run the application in evaluation mode. See Pricing and Licensing and Evaluation License and Demo for details.

 

Keeping up to date 

Ornatrix App can check for newer versions automatically and guide you to the download. See Checking for Updates.

 

Uninstalling 

 

Windows 

Uninstall Ornatrix App from Settings > Apps > Installed apps (or Programs and Features), the same way as any other Windows application. You can also re-run the .msi installer and choose to remove the product.

 

macOS 

Move Ornatrix App from the Applications folder to the Trash.

 

Linux 

Run sudo ./LinuxUninstall.sh from the OrnatrixApp directory the archive extracted into, or delete /opt/Ephere/OrnatrixApp and /usr/share/applications/OrnatrixApp.desktop.

Uninstalling does not remove your saved groom files (.oxz); those remain wherever you saved them.
