Resolve Collisions Operator
The Resolve Collisions operator provides art-directable collisions for fur and grass without a full physics simulation. It keeps hair from passing through objects in fast, real-time fashion - useful for fur interacting with clothing, a hand stroking through fur, or a character walking through a field of grass.
What it does
The operator detects where strands would penetrate collision geometry and pushes them out, so hair rests on and around objects instead of intersecting them. Because it is a procedural operator rather than a simulation, it is fast and predictable, and a small set of intuitive parameters lets you control the result while working in real time.
When to use it
Use Resolve Collisions when you need clean contact between hair and objects but do not want the cost or unpredictability of dynamics - for example to settle fur against a body or props. For motion driven by physics, combine it with or use the Moov Physics Operator.
