Curve Editor Tool
The Curve Editor tool edits the keys of a Curve controller on a curve over time. Use it to move keys, add and remove them, and change how the value travels from one key to the next. See Keyframe Animation for how keys are made.
Opening the editor
The tool opens on the Curve controller that is selected. The quickest ways to get there:
- Right-click an animated parameter and pick Select Controller.
- Click a key mark on the timeline.
- Assign a new Curve controller to a parameter, which selects it.
With no Curve controller selected, the tool's panel says so.
The curve
The horizontal axis is time. It covers the timeline's range, widened to include any key outside it. The vertical axis covers the values of the keys, with some room above and below. A red line marks the current frame.
- Add a key by clicking on an empty part of the curve.
- Move a key by dragging it, in time and in value.
- Delete a key by selecting it and pressing Delete, or from its context menu.
- Change a key's interpolation by right-clicking it and picking Step, Linear, Smooth or Spline. The interpolation of a key shapes the curve up to the next key.
Each edit is a step to undo.
