Length Operator
The Length operator changes the length of guides or hair, making strands longer or shorter. The length can be set uniformly across the whole groom, or varied across the surface and along strands using a map or a strand channel - so you can, for example, keep hair short around the face and longer elsewhere with a single operator.
Using the operator
Set a global length scale to grow or trim all affected strands, then optionally drive the amount with a channel or map for variation. A strand group parameter lets you confine the change to part of a groom.
When to use it
Length is handy for trimming a groom to a target silhouette without re-grooming, for tapering hair in specific regions, and for art-directing fur length across a creature. Because it is procedural, you can adjust length at any time and the rest of the stack responds.
