Settings and Preferences
Ornatrix App stores your preferences between sessions, so the choices you make here persist the next time you launch the application. Open the settings dialog to adjust how the application starts up, how the viewport behaves, and how the interface is presented.
General
- Check for updates on startup - when enabled, the App checks ephere.com for a newer version each time it starts. See Checking for Updates.
- Interface language - the language used for menus, panels, and tooltips. See Changing the Interface Language.
Viewport
Viewport preferences control display quality, navigation behavior, and how hair, guides, and meshes are drawn. See Viewport Navigation and Display and Hair and Guide Viewport Display.
Multiple windows
Support for multiple viewport windows is an advanced, experimental option that is turned off by default. See Multiple Viewport Windows before enabling it.
GPU
The GPU tab selects which graphics device is used for the interface and for rendering, and controls denoising of the raytraced viewport. Changing the graphics device takes effect after the application is restarted.
- GUI GPU and Render GPU - choose the graphics device used to draw the interface and the device used by the raytraced renderer, or leave them on Auto to let the App choose automatically.
- Enable GPU denoiser - when enabled, a GPU denoiser is applied to the raytraced viewport so the image looks cleaner while it refines at low sample counts. This option is turned off by default and takes effect immediately.
File paths
How the App resolves external files (such as imported meshes and textures) referenced by a scene is managed separately. See Managing External File Paths.
Keyboard shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts are customizable. See Keyboard Shortcuts.
Resetting
If your preferences ever become misconfigured, you can restore defaults. Note that resetting preferences does not affect your saved scenes or grooms.
